Don’t Pray and Worry!

Dear Beloved,

Hope all is well and that this season is all that you desire it to be. Let’s jump right into today’s topic shall we? I thought I was simply going to drop a #Warrior Moment to you, but clearly the Lord had something different in mind, and I have no choice but to be okay with that. Prayer. What exactly is prayer?  Wow. Prayer has many layers to it, but I want to focus only the significance of it.

So what is prayer? Prayer is a relationship, wherein we humbly communicate, worship, and sincerely seek God’s face, knowing that He hears us, loves us and will respond, though not always in a manner we may expect or desire (Velarde, Robert, n.d). Prayer can encompass confession, praise, adoration, supplication, intercession and more (Velarde, Robert, n.d.).

In addition, our attitude in prayer is important. We must not be haughty, but humble (Ephesians 4:2; James 4:10; 1 Peter 5:6, etc.). Seen in this light, to “pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) means, in one sense, that we must always strive to have a prayerful attitude. Our prayers must come often and regularly, not from legalistic duty, but from a humble heart, realizing our dependence on God in every aspect of our lives (Velarde, Robert, n.d)

As you can clearly see, prayer is an essential component in our walk with God. It’s impossible to sincerely pray and worry at the same time. Can you see how the two just don’t mix? Before, I release your eyes, check out the following scripture and see for yourself what should happen after you truly pray: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7, NLT). Until we meet again, I love you to life!

xoxo,

Mrs. Candace A. Stevens, The Risen Warrior

#Warrior Moment

A healthy spiritual intimacy/relationship with God will heal, and fill emotional spaces that money, sex (outside of God-ordained marriage), food, drugs, that any other vice can’t fulfill.

Be intentional, and willingly put aside anything that draws attention from Jesus and don’t look back. We must resolve to stay focused on God’s plan to prosper us, not harm us, and those plans that give us hope and a promising future.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13, NIV).

#Warrior Moment

Through every trial and tribulation, God remains faithful. Ask Paul, a faithful servant of God, who through every trial and tribulation that goes far beyond what most people have faced (besides Jesus), is a visible manifestation of God’s faithfulness.  He’s consistent and willing to be everything we need and more, if we allow Him to be. Move out of the way and allow God to do His thing. Until we meet again, I love you to life!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV).
