#Respeck: Wait…there’s more

Dear Beloved,

Hope your day is well, so far. For this day, I want us to remember this: Besides God and a strong relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, one of the most powerful things to have is understanding.

Let’s examine this wisdom together (Proverbs 4:7, AMP)

“The beginning of wisdom is: Get [skillful and godly] wisdom [it is preeminent]! And with all your acquiring, get understanding [actively seek spiritual discernment, mature comprehension, and logical interpretation].

As we continue to move forward in our journey, we will encounter things that are beyond our comprehension, and if you understand who you are and whose you are, you will know that you can’t respond to pits, problems, or circumstances the way you used to. After a real encounter with Jesus, you then realize that at some point your old way of life, is null and void. God has a strategic way of working in and through all of us.  It’s so easy to become cluttered with what’s going on around us, that we don’t take to the time to renew our minds in the word of God.

Right now, take a quick survey over your life. Is there something you to need to resolve within yourself or with anyone else? We should never get to a point in life to where we can’t apologize.  Beloved, always pursue peace with God, yourself, and others.  We are called to the following, and more in no particular order: Obey God. Love. Forgive. Pray. Renew your mind in the Word of God. Walk in unwavering faith. Repeat The greatest of all of these, is still and will forever be: LOVE (1 Corinthians 13). Are you ready to take your relationship with the Lord to another level?  Are seeking answers today?  Take some time to day to get some understanding about whatever you’re facing. The latter requires some serious self-examination my friends.  Ready. Set. Grow. Until we meet again warriors, I love you to life!

Tell it Like it Is or Nah?

Dear Beloved,

I pray this brief missive finds you well today.  What are your plans for the weekend?  Are you planning to spend time with family or friends?  Well friend I hope that whatever you do you squeeze in some quiet time for yourself.  Invite yourself into the presence of the most High God.  He’s always willing and waiting to hear from you.

I usually have a topic to expand from when I post to this blog.  For some reason I don’t today.  I just wanted to come on and tell my friends hello.  Will you allow me to share what I have learned recently? Transparency is powerful guys.  I was blessed to share a brief portion of my testimony unashamed.  I realized that everything that I have gone through was not in vain.  God used my a portion of my past in that brief moment to help set someone else free.  What a feeling of joy that was inexpressible!

Trust the process!  Allow yourself to cry, scream, whatever you need to do to release yourself from your past.  We all come from a past that we would rather not expose. You know the things that you and I have told ourselves that only God above and you will know?  Am I the only one? Beloved, our experiences in this life are there to teach us not TORMENT us.

If you are struggling with something, I want to encourage you to allow Jesus to set you free.  Afterwards, walk in your freedom.  You must own it!  You and I have gone through things in order to help others like “us” along the way.  Use your pit, problem, or circumstance to your advantage.

Until we meet again…I love you to life!

Take your Rest

Dear Beloved,

Hope all is well. Renew, refresh, and restore, are only a few words that I can think of when it comes down to being weary, suffering with brokenness, and pain in our spirits. Why don’t we retreat when necessary? We must not get so busy that we neglect feeding our spirits the word of God. The word of God is like a cool refreshing drink to our depleted, worn, and thirsty souls.

Take a moment and look at your calendar. Why is that we can intentionally plan meetings, weddings, parties, or vacations but can’t take a few minutes to spend quality time with God? It’s so easy to become busy, yet not be productive. Many of us live life full spend ahead and don’t leave time to refresh ourselves in God’s presence.

Remember not to become so busy that you ignore those gentle nudges from God to enter into his presence. He created us and knows what we need before we ask Him.  God is so good.  The Bible says, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak, (Isaiah 40:29, NIV). I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint (Jeremiah 31: 25, NIV). The good news is that Jesus walked the Earth for a period of time and understands how easy it is to become depleted and worn out from life. He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)

Until we meet again…I love you to life!

Or Nah.

Dear Beloved,

Hope all is well with you. The way we view ourselves are results of some of the decisions we make whether positive or negative. If we vow to settle for anything beneath than what God says we’re entitled to, the result is total disregard to His plan for our lives. In the book of wisdom (Proverbs) there is a scripture that says, “There is a way that SEEMS RIGHT to man, But its end is the way of death/destruction (Proverbs 14:12, NKJV). It’s also mentioned again in Proverbs 16:25! God has a way of warning us doesn’t HE? When arrogance floods our spirit, we deceive ourselves into thinking that OUR own way is the best way. I guarantee you that every selfish pursuit without God’s blessing and consideration will always fail miserably. Don’t ask me how I know.  There’s a large number of us that live on how we “feel”. Friends, just because it “feels” right doesn’t it mean it’s from God and God-ordained. He will allow certain situations to happen just to bring you back to HIM.

Many of us spend our lifetime desperately trying to cross over into territories God never intended us to be in. Do you want to know what’s at work? Most of the time it’s envy or jealousy. We tend to lust after what others are blessed with instead of focusing on being content with what God has blessed us with. Friends, patience pays handsomely! For example we may crossover into a career, relationships, friendships or marriage (s) just to name a few. If anything brings you consistent, heartache, pain, fear, doubt, anxiety, then LEAVE IT ALONE, because that’s not God’s best for you. Friends, this doesn’t apply to marriage. Don’t get it twisted folks. We are bound to our husbands/wives as long as they LIVE. However, separation maybe necessary in some cases. We are to be reconciled to our spouses but we are never to marry again.  It’s truly until death due us part.  Divorce is never an option! See Malachi 2:16/1 Corinthians 7 (Entire Chapter).  I’m not sure who this is for, but take heed.  Now read on…

I heard T.D. Jakes say in a sermon, that we are loyal to dysfunction. Why? We all have to a tendency to gravitate to what’s comfortable even if it means compromising ourselves in our relationship with God, ourselves, and others. Let’s not forget that we will be accountable for everything we say and do. In our world today, there are some that are walking around in deception. Many believe that they don’t have to be accountable for anything. 2 COR 5:10) “FOR WE MUST ALL APPEAR BEFORE THE JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST; THAT EVERY ONE MAY RECEIVE THE THINGS DONE IN HIS BODY, ACCORDING TO THAT HE HATH DONE, WHETHER IT BE GOOD OR BAD.”

I want to encourage us all to not make hasty life decisions without considering the eternal consequences or out of desperation. As the old cliché’ says, if you make your bed hard you will have to lay in it. I believe that if we all really obey and take heed to the signs, and warnings that God sends we can save ourselves a lot of heartache, pain, time, money, and resources. Friends, when it’s all said and done you won’t be able to tell God I didn’t tell you so! Until we meet again…I love you to life!

Empire vs. Legacy

Beloved,

In today’s society it’s easy to become disconnected with who you truly are.  Today, I want to look at the terms empire vs. legacy.  The definition of empire is possessing supreme power, sovereignty; sway or dominion.  Legacy is something (as memories or knowledge) that comes from a person of the past.  Personally, I don’t feel the need to try to remain relevant with time.  True identity can only be found in the person of Jesus.

Have you have ever heard people boldly declaring that they are building their empire?  How can you build something that already exists on the inside of you?  In the beginning of time God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth (Genesis 1: 26, KJV).  The common mistake that we make is that we forget how powerful we really are.  Dominion exists and lives on the inside of our being.  Friends, it’s up to us if we decide to walk in our God-given authority on a constant and consistent basis.

Legacy can be viewed as one of the many gifts that keeps on giving even after we leave this earth.  It’s our lasting impression on others that have the capacity to strengthen not only ourselves but the world around us.  Legacy is more than just money or possessions that is intended for equal distribution for our family upon our death.  Beloved, take the time and examine your own life.  How will you be remembered?  What is the lasting impact that you will have on your family and your community?  Until we meet again… I love you to life!

Beautiful Timing!

Dearly Beloved,

Hope all well.  Thanks for your patience and continued support! I’ve realized that there are definitely levels to this beautiful thing called “selfless service to others.”  God is still able and I can’t get ahead of HIM.  One day at a time, one day at a time, is what I keep telling myself.

In the word of God there’s a verse that’s comes to my heart and it simply says that,” Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11, NIV)  Be careful not to get caught up in what’s not happening fast enough and miss the beauty in God’s divine order and timing.  The world has its way of doing things but God has His way of how he wants the plan for your life to be revealed.

We all have to learn to flow confidently into the divine assignment (s) that God has for each of us.  In the midst of what appears to be sheer “ugliness”, God is doing His perfect work in and around you. Warriors, we must be careful that we don’t allow fear to come and tap us on the shoulders.  Don’t miss what God has for you because you are having a hard time letting go of what was.  Breathe. Pray. Meditate. Focus. Forgive. Rest. Love. Let IT Go. Let THEM Go.  Don’t look back you will remain stuck!  God has you in the palm of His hand and will never leave you nor forsake you. ((Virtual Hug))

Now for all of my dreamers, and visionaries don’t allow unfavorable problems, pits, or circumstances distort what God have shown you.  In today’s society, nobody wants to go through the process.  I mentioned about their being levels to greatness to service.  Instead of being lost and stressing out about the future, learn to enjoy where you are now.  Frustration, lack of joy, and peace, etc. settles when you intentionally create your own path and expect God to follow your lead.   Be content where you are in your journey and allow God to build your character.  Until we meet again…I love you to life!

Don’t You Do It!

Dearly Beloved,

Hope all is well and pray that your 2015 is off to a great start.  Here’s a list that I have pulled together for us all to remember:

  1. Don’t be negative.
  2. Don’t complain.
  3. Don’t rely on others for your success.
  4. Don’t try to tell others what they should/shouldn’t be doing if they don’t solicit your feedback.  Focus on yourself and the rest will follow.
  5. Don’t quit.  You are worth it!
  6. Don’t ALLOW anything or anyone to serve as a hindrance or distraction in your meeting/exceeding your goals.
  7. Don’t forget to always remain in humility.  Apart from Jesus you can do nothing.  John 15:5

Until we meet again….I love you to life!

Be Still and Quiet on Purpose!

Dearly Beloved,

Hope all is well with you. Today, focus on nothing but God.   Allow yourself to escape into His arms of safety.  Be careful beloved, as there are many things that will pull for your attention.  Don’t allow yourself to be seduced into nothingness followed by sheer foolery.  I’m telling you this is a waste of your precious time.  As we continue on our journey together on living a prosperous life, we have to learn to be still and quiet in the presence of the Lord.

My heart is not proud, O Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.  But I have still and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother like a weaned child is my soul within me.  O Israel, put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore. Psalm 131, (NIV)

Many of us need to learn to mind our own business, and stop including ourselves into certain conversations, situations, or circumstances.  Friends, allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truth.  Go to a safe quiet place, be still, and allow the Lord to speak to you.  Lay at His feet, and allow Him to love on you.  Your walk with Him will be so much sweeter!  Come on He’s waiting on you.  Until we meet again warriors….I love you to life!
