Take your Rest

Dear Beloved,

Hope all is well. Renew, refresh, and restore, are only a few words that I can think of when it comes down to being weary, suffering with brokenness, and pain in our spirits. Why don’t we retreat when necessary? We must not get so busy that we neglect feeding our spirits the word of God. The word of God is like a cool refreshing drink to our depleted, worn, and thirsty souls.

Take a moment and look at your calendar. Why is that we can intentionally plan meetings, weddings, parties, or vacations but can’t take a few minutes to spend quality time with God? It’s so easy to become busy, yet not be productive. Many of us live life full spend ahead and don’t leave time to refresh ourselves in God’s presence.

Remember not to become so busy that you ignore those gentle nudges from God to enter into his presence. He created us and knows what we need before we ask Him.  God is so good.  The Bible says, “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak, (Isaiah 40:29, NIV). I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint (Jeremiah 31: 25, NIV). The good news is that Jesus walked the Earth for a period of time and understands how easy it is to become depleted and worn out from life. He says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30, NIV)

Until we meet again…I love you to life!

Be Still and Quiet on Purpose!

Dearly Beloved,

Hope all is well with you. Today, focus on nothing but God.   Allow yourself to escape into His arms of safety.  Be careful beloved, as there are many things that will pull for your attention.  Don’t allow yourself to be seduced into nothingness followed by sheer foolery.  I’m telling you this is a waste of your precious time.  As we continue on our journey together on living a prosperous life, we have to learn to be still and quiet in the presence of the Lord.

My heart is not proud, O Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me.  But I have still and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother like a weaned child is my soul within me.  O Israel, put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore. Psalm 131, (NIV)

Many of us need to learn to mind our own business, and stop including ourselves into certain conversations, situations, or circumstances.  Friends, allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truth.  Go to a safe quiet place, be still, and allow the Lord to speak to you.  Lay at His feet, and allow Him to love on you.  Your walk with Him will be so much sweeter!  Come on He’s waiting on you.  Until we meet again warriors….I love you to life!

The Prosperous Life: Part 2

Dearly Beloved,

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Welcome to “The Warriors Corner”! Today, I will continue the discussion on “The Prosperous Life.”  Please read “The Prosperous Life-Part 1 if you haven’t done so already.  https://talithacumi3.wordpress.com/2014/11/03/the-prosperous-life-part-1/ Beloved, my prayer is that you understand that you must collaborate with God in order to manifest his glory in every area of your life.  You must believe in the finished works of Jesus, thank him for what he has already done, and walk through the door of faith.

Beloved, consider the following adaptation from Mrs. Gloria Copeland’s article: “True Prosperity.” In order to prosper, you must first have a prosperous soul. That’s the beginning of the prosperous life. But how do you get there? My journey to the prosperous life began years ago when I read Matthew 6:33 in a Bible Ken’s mother had given him: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” In The Amplified Bible it says to seek “His way of doing and being right.” That’s the foundation of God’s prosperity. When I found that verse, I was ready to try God’s way since I needed a lot of things and my way wasn’t working.

I discovered that God’s prosperity isn’t just financial blessings. It also includes healing, protection, favor, wisdom, success, well-being and every good thing you could possibly need—all the good things Jesus paid for you to have. He took our place and bore the curse of our sin so we can live in the blessing. “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 3:13-14). Isaiah 53:5 says, “The chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole” (The Amplified Bible). The Hebrew word for peace in this scripture is shalom. It basically means “nothing missing, nothing broken,” or wholeness in every area of your life—spirit, soul and body.  That kind of prosperous life doesn’t just happen. And it doesn’t happen overnight. But the foundation for true prosperity begins with these seven steps:  Walking in truth, Faithfulness, Diligence, Tithing, Sowing, Believing, and Saying. (Copeland, Gloria 2009.)

Friends, will you answer the clarion call to follow Matthew 6:33, and collaborate with God to cultivate your prosperous life?  Let’s all make the commitment to become better in every facet of our lives.  Until we meet again warriors… I love you to life!

The Prosperous Life: Part 1

Dearly Beloved,

Hope all is well with you.  Today we are going to focus on manifestation of God’s glory in every area of your life.  Do you want to become all that God has created you to be?  Do you have the desire to be whole mind, body, soul, and spirit?  Do you have the desire to be prosperous financially? God certainly does. Consider one of the many scriptures that He has to say about it.  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 1:2, (KJV) If you have the desire to go to another dimension in God you must be willing to increase your faith to another level.

Many of us are waiting, hoping, and wondering when a visible change is going to come in the deficient areas of our lives. Beloved, you must believe that whatever you need has already been done! When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and released his spirit. John 19:30, (NLT) Friends, please understand that everything you need or desire has already been provided for over 2000 years ago!  What does it take to manifest God’s glory in our lives under the new covenant of grace through Jesus Christ our Lord?  Simply: “I believe I receive ______, in the name of Jesus and thank you Lord for what you have done.”

Don’t allow another day to go by thinking that whatever you desire will fall into your lap.  No!  We must work with God and actively use our faith to manifest his glory in our lives!  Please understand that this goes for every area of your life.  For example:  Does it make sense to believe God and manifest His glory for every other area in your life with the exception of your finances?  NO! Oh my warriors, I can write on and on about this but I must bid you farewell for now…until we meet again I love you to life!

xoxo,

Yes You’re Worth It!

Dearly Beloved,

Hope all is well with you on this fine Thursday afternoon! Let’s talk about health/wellness on today.  We are settling in the fall season, Thanksgiving, and the Christmas holidays are upon us.  Do you realize that we only have sixty-nine days until 2015?  Beloved, I would like to encourage you to take inventory on your current eating habits, lifestyle, and exercise regimen.  Are you still waiting on “Monday” to get your act together?  Read on and let me share a little secret with you… You can start today!  That’s right don’t wait until “Monday”, next week, or even the New Year.  Friends, I would like for you to start with small gradual changes that will erupt into sweet vitality.  There’s no magic pill, potion, or powder that will lead you to a lifestyle of health/wellness.

I have personally discovered the overall recipe for success to experience major breakthrough in this area.  First, obedience, and overall submission to God’s purpose and plan concerning this area, and the overall fabric of my being.  The key elements were to have love for myself, plenty of support from family, and friends, and resilience.  You will also have to meditate, pray, cry, declare war against fat, and the forces of darkness.  In spite of it all, you have to  remain focused, consistent, and diligent.

Beloved, it starts with a shift in your mindset, heart, release all toxins (including people and things that hurt you), bitterness, anger, and unforgiveness.  As you can clearly see, the list is endless! Consider this:  Are you allowing food or situations beyond your control to dominate you?  Are you turning to food to deal with toxic internal issues?  Beloved, this leads straight to repeated insanity, cycles of self-sabotage, and abuse. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NLT)

If you eat fast food, drink sodas, smoke, or drink alcohol in abundance, then slowly start reducing how much you intake. Don’t attempt to go “cold turkey” or will you want to quit. Quitting is not an option. You have to slowly transition your body.  As the time goes on, and your body adjusts you will only desire healthier options.  The small or large amounts that you consume on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis will ultimately fade.  Don’t think of your changes as a diet.  In my opinion, trying to diet is a set up for failure, and repeated cycles of insanity.  Try to embrace this as an overall lifestyle change for your overall health/wellness.  Don’t do it for anybody else but you!  Aren’t you worth it to show up for yourself? Until we meet again…I love you to life!

xoxo,

The Risen Warrior

Faith vs. Fear

Dearly Beloved,

It’s a wonderful Tuesday afternoon and I pray you guys are off to a joyous start.  Fear is under surveillance today.  Fear is the conglomerate of being afraid of (something or someone), to expect or worry about (something bad or unpleasant), or to be afraid or worried (Merriam-Webster, 2014). Fear is also the opposite of faith.  Faith is having strong belief in someone or something (Merriam-Webster, 2014).  Warriors, why do we put total confidence in ourselves, and people and not in God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit?

The question of the day is this:  How can we move from fear to uncompromising trust and total confidence in God?  My purpose is to awaken us to consciousness today.  Many of us are guilty on pondering or meditating on things that will never happen.  Always remember, that ultimately you become what you read, think, watch, hear, or eat.  The forces of darkness are always on the prowl seeking to devour every fabric of your being. Warriors guard your heart and be mindful of what and who you are allowing in your space. Beloved, what you actively seek will find you!  Fear gifts you death, sickness, disease, dread, stagnation, mediocrity, etc.

Consider this: Have you ever wondered why you started out your day joyous and by the afternoon you’re acting completely weird?  Do you know why?  It’s because you allowed your guard over your heart to come down.  You have also relinquished faith and moved into fear. Friends, embrace things that add to you and not deplete you. The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe. (Proverbs 29:25) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Here’s a call to action: drop fear, embrace faith, and actively fuel your faith with the inspired word of God daily.  Until we meet again…I love you to life!

To Be or Not to Be: Addicted? Part 1

Dearly Beloved,

To be or not to be: Addicted?  Hopefully, your answer would be the latter.  According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of addiction is a strong and harmful need to have something or do something.  Additionally, addiction is defined as an unusually, great interest in something or a need to do or have something. Warriors, journey with me for a line or two.  Truth is what sets us free right?

Addictions are one commonality that all of us as human beings have experienced.  The difference is some of us are exposed, and some of us not.  It’s those secret things that nobody knows about but you and God above.  Addictions, are those vices that crepitate and slither through our souls and its ultimate goal is to steal, kill, and destroy us.

Consider this: 2 Peter 2:19 (NIV) says, “they promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity”for people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” In order to capture the full scope, I invite you to read the entire book of 2nd Peter.  For the sake of this missive, our focus is on the latter part of this verse.  Now ask yourself this question what I am the slave to?  What am I allowing to master me?  Is it food, drugs, sex, alcohol (excessive use), pornography, social media, cell phones, technology, etc.? Ponder, ponder, ponder….there’s more to come stay tuned for Part 2 of To Be or Not to Be: Addicted?
