A Call to Love, Not Hate

Dear Beloved,

Did you really think I was going to let this month end without saying hello? In light of recent events, specifically #Orlando (and others-just watch the news), I wanted to share my heart.   Beloved, deep down we all know right from wrong, in the way we choose to live our lives.  Sin is still sin, no matter what we choose to dwell in, there’s not one greater than the other.  It still separates us from God, and brings us nothing but a “dead” life.

22 But now you are free from sin. You have become slaves of God, and the result is that you live only for God. This will bring you eternal life. 23 When people sin, they earn what sin pays—death. But God gives his people a free gift—eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:22-23, ERV).

Sin has a way of staining our lives, and truly keeps us from that blessed hope that once we DIE, we will spend Eternity with Him.  No worries though, it’s never to late truly give our hearts to Jesus and intentionally walk out a life of living in total obedience, as the Bible instructs us to.

I can scream at the top of my lungs of what the Bible teaches on this and that, but at the end of the day if you have a pulse, and an adult you’re going to do what you want to do. My prayer is that those who read this blog would either continue or start a relationship with Jesus.  The one thing many people will have, and always have is an opinion.  However, the Bible is clear:

19 Now the works of the flesh (natural sin tendencies) are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy,[d] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things WILL NOT inherit the kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21, ESV).

Today, I want to address Christians and those who claim to have the love of Jesus in their hearts. It’s impossible for those souls who are truly lost to even want to connect with us, if we constantly, and consistently injure people with our words/and the lack of love, mercy and grace.  Some people have had the audacity to take God’s Holy Word to condemn others and spread pure hate.  The bottom line is this:

20 If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[a] love God whom he has not seen (1 John 4:20, ESV).

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments (Matthew 22:36-40, NIV).

In conclusion, it’s not what you say, but how you say it, Right? As Christians, if we learn how to share Jesus by speaking the truth in love (Ephesians 4), then people may be more receptive to what you and I have to say.  Until we meet again, I love you to life!

Did I really wake up like this?

Dear Beloved,

Hope all is well. Just reflecting on how good God has been to me and those around me.  Sometimes, your day can start out kind of noisy, but when you yield to the Lord it becomes easier to allow Him to freely invade your space. He always available, and consistent with offering His full attention, love, peace, and most of all some serious wisdom, knowledge, and understanding (only found in the Word of God).

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LordFor as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts (Isaiah 55: 8-9, ESV).

Forgive me in advance for the space in time from my previous article, but I don’t move on this platform unless the Holy Spirit leads me to.  So, with all that being said, let’s chat for a few shall we?

Mentality. According to www.dictionary.com, mentality is the mental capacity, endowment, or the set of one’s mind; view; or outlook. How do you start your day each day?  Do you wake up tired, upset, or still wallowing in what happened yesterday, or even years ago?  Or full of joy and ready to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37, ESV)? Have you ever thought about the results of your life?  Beloved, we must understand, that we are living out exactly whatever we have said, thought, or done.  I know.  If you really take a step back, the aforementioned can be some difficult questions to answer. Well, maybe not if you’re honest with yourself and the Lord. 🙂

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3: 22-23, ESV).

Going forward, let’s remember to start our days in gratitude, and do whatever we need to do to eliminate the stains of our past, and yesterday.  Forgive yourself, others, and receive in faith, forgiveness from our merciful God. Our God loves us unconditionally, and He will never fall short on faithfully extending His new mercies, each and every morning.  Until we meet again….I love you to life!

Xoxo,
