Don’t Pray and Worry!

Dear Beloved,

Hope all is well and that this season is all that you desire it to be. Let’s jump right into today’s topic shall we? I thought I was simply going to drop a #Warrior Moment to you, but clearly the Lord had something different in mind, and I have no choice but to be okay with that. Prayer. What exactly is prayer?  Wow. Prayer has many layers to it, but I want to focus only the significance of it.

So what is prayer? Prayer is a relationship, wherein we humbly communicate, worship, and sincerely seek God’s face, knowing that He hears us, loves us and will respond, though not always in a manner we may expect or desire (Velarde, Robert, n.d). Prayer can encompass confession, praise, adoration, supplication, intercession and more (Velarde, Robert, n.d.).

In addition, our attitude in prayer is important. We must not be haughty, but humble (Ephesians 4:2; James 4:10; 1 Peter 5:6, etc.). Seen in this light, to “pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) means, in one sense, that we must always strive to have a prayerful attitude. Our prayers must come often and regularly, not from legalistic duty, but from a humble heart, realizing our dependence on God in every aspect of our lives (Velarde, Robert, n.d)

As you can clearly see, prayer is an essential component in our walk with God. It’s impossible to sincerely pray and worry at the same time. Can you see how the two just don’t mix? Before, I release your eyes, check out the following scripture and see for yourself what should happen after you truly pray: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7, NLT). Until we meet again, I love you to life!

xoxo,

Be intentional, and willingly put aside anything that draws attention from Jesus and don’t look back. We must resolve to stay focused on God’s plan to prosper us, not harm us, and those plans that give us hope and a promising future.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11-13, NIV).

Through every trial and tribulation, God remains faithful. Ask Paul, a faithful servant of God, who through every trial and tribulation that goes far beyond what most people have faced (besides Jesus), is a visible manifestation of God’s faithfulness.  He’s consistent and willing to be everything we need and more, if we allow Him to be. Move out of the way and allow God to do His thing. Until we meet again, I love you to life!

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV).

Are you truly experiencing the abundant life that Jesus promised?  If not, dig deep, find out why, and execute accordingly.  Fellow warrior, know that I’m praying with and for you during your journey.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10, ESV).

Until we meet again, I love you to life!

#Warrior Moment

Hope this brief warrior moment finds you well. Don’t worry, it will get better. Stay behind God instead of trying to get ahead of Him. The posture of humility gives Him the room to work on our behalf.  Don’t try to rely on your own strength. Remember, when you done all that you can do, just stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever (Exodus 14:13, KJV)

True change begins within.  It starts with being open, honest, and transparent before God, yourself, and others. Freedom is discovered when we realize that we truly need God in every aspect of our lives.

Until we meet again… I love you to life!

Do You Know What Today Is?

Dear Beloved,

Do you know what today is…it’s our anniversary! Hope this brief missive finds you well.  October 6, 2014 was the official launch date of this blog/website which is affectionately called “TalithaCumi+3/The Warrior’s Corner.”  First, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and know that it’s a privilege to serve each and every one of you.  My prayer is that you will continue to be blessed through this platform.  Before I let you go, know that God’s timing is not ours.  I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again.  When God allows you to be connected to something greater than yourself, it’s truly a blessing.  The path may get rocky, but to see vision manifested is truly a blessing.  It doesn’t matter how big or small.  God is and still truly faithful to the faithful. Until we meet again, I love you to life!

xoxo,

Peace

Dear Beloved,

Let’s jump right into our brief discussion for today. Have you ever noticed that when you start your day in meditation and prayer, that the enemy will utilize whomever and whatever is available to come and try to distract the goodness that’s ahead in the day?  In order to recognize this, we must always strive to remain in a posture of peace, power, and praise in God’s presence.  For many of us, the problem is becoming intentional about turning our focus back on Jesus in the moment of any hindrance, or distraction.

Let’s examine the following verses (of many) that will immediately cause us to be victorious in the area of keeping and maintaining your peaceful place:

  • Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee (Isaiah 26:3, KJV).  Now, with practice we can all grow into keeping our mind on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I don’t know about you, but I prefer peace. In the midst of peace, we can be productive and yield fruit that will create windows of opportunity, and open doors that can’t be closed.
  • The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10, NIV). The Father gives us insight on the sole purpose of the enemy which is to steal, kill, and destroy. Friends, once the enemy has arrived in your space to try to disrupt your program for the day (or any part of your life), you and I have the power to dismiss him immediately. Jesus came, died, and rose again for us to live an abundant life, and this includes a consistent disposition of peace.

#WarriorMoment

Dear Beloved,

Hope all is well. I wanted to drop in and share this brief warrior moment with you.  Here’s a little something on relationships  to ponder for today. In healthy relationships/friendships, loyalty should never be questioned.  If so, go back and re-evaluate the relationship.  Is it toxic, counterfeit, or convenient?  Does it cause you to compromise your walk with the Lord and everything that He stands for, according to the Word of God? Stay away from people that seek to keep or drag you into their own pit, problem, or circumstance.  The bottom line is this, “If it ain’t right, it’s wrong (unknown). ” Stand for what’s right beloved, no matter the cost.  I guarantee you it’s never lonely at the top.  Until we meet again, I love you to life!

“But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired (Isaiah 40:31, CEV).
