Life or Death

Dear Beloved,

I pray that all is well with you. Some pits, problems, or circumstances, are designed to drive us closer to our God-given purpose/destiny or cause us to sacrifice everything we stand for/believe in what appears to be right, yet so wrong for our life.  Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.  God is gentle and His love is unconditional, and that’s two of the many things that I love about Him. He gave us the gift of freewill.  He gives us the option to follow Him and live an abundant life or choose a path that will only lead a life of not only pain, but destruction as well. Am I the only person in this world that’s real enough to admit that I’ve thought some thoughts, said some things, or made decisions that I’m not proud of?  I’m sure that I’m not.

The problem in our world today is that some Christians like myself (once upon at time) are/were too much of a coward to deal with our own internal struggles that we won’t dare admit to ourselves, others, or God. We shift blame on others, try to hide, or present our false best selves to others (aka facade), but the truth is we can’t hide from God. The danger in never facing the reality of a pit, problem, or circumstance is that it will keep coming up in our lives until we truly address the root cause of it.  True freedom is when you can approach the throne of grace willing to bare our entire soul to the Lord on a daily basis, not just in a crisis.

To whomever this particular message may reach, I want you to know and always remember that you can learn to accept yourself for who you are (flaws and all), and who you are becoming. If you don’t like it, you can change it.  If you don’t have the strength to change it alone, seek help not only from God, but also someone you can trust. Who you are today, will not be who you are tommorrow.  Trust and believe there’s levels to any growth process. Remember God didn’t create us to be perfect.  He already knew that this life wouldn’t be easy.  In our brokenness, is where He does His best work if we allow Him to. Not all pits, problems, or circumstances are set up to destroy us. Trials and tribulations may come and go, but their sole purpose is to drive us closer to the Lord or simply accept Him.

God will also allow certain things to happen to teach us that we can get through anything, not everything in life comes easy, and not everything we want will be ours.  In the midst of our pits, problems, or circumstances, we can learn a lot about ourselves.  We can also learn that God will send people along the way who will have a certain role in our lives, and we shouldn’t try to change it. For this week, I challenge you to really look at your circle, and most of all yourself.  Is their purpose in your life for a reason, season, or a lifetime? Have you ever considered how much easier it is to have answers for everybody else, especially when we refuse to look at our lives? Until we meet again, I love you to life!

xoxo,

The Risen Warrior
